In keeping with our traditions to provide an outstanding environment for research in diverse and innovative areas, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, Pakistan in collaboration with the University of Texas, Austin, USA is organizing the International Conference on "Gender, Social Sciences and Humanities: New Directions in Scholarship from January 13 to15, 2016.
The conference aims to bring together leading national and international academics, researchers, gender analysts, and scholars to stimulate new ways of thinking about gender from the perspectives of Social Sciences and Humanities. It will provide a premier interdisciplinary forum to engage with wide-ranging contemporary topics, and to discuss the ideas, trends, practices, concerns, issues and challenges in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities seen through the lens of gender. Both International and national presenters will share their research studies on various themes and sub-themes of the conference including; Gender Policies & Politics: Local & Global, Cultural Diversity & Vulnerabilities, Debating Equity & Equality, Education 'in' 'on' & 'for' gender, Gender Representation in Media, Language & Culture, Gender & Economics and etc. Keynote speaker, Ms. Sorayya Khan, an eminent British Novelist will share her views about "Mercy is as Mercy Does: Reading and Writing as a Novelist," and Dr. Karin Wilkins will present Keynote titled "Communicating Gender in Global Development."
We hope that the conference will provide an opportunity for scholarly discourse around Gender, Social Science and Humanities; and will strengthen networking among various professionals in the related fields.
