Brief Introduction: Institutional development is an ongoing process without which scientific establishments cannot sustain the strictness and quality of frontier research. Despite all the growth and establishment in Pakistan, unfortunately women still face barriers in basic science education when it comes to getting enrolled in universities for higher education. FJWU, being first of its kind in Pakistan and among few in number in South Asia.

FJWU is honored to academically cater thousands of young and inspiring women with higher aims in playing their roles for the development of motherland.

The Chemistry Department is structured to assure that all concentrators of Chemistry i.e. organic, inorganic and physical. The design of our rich curriculum offers concentrations and courses in interdisciplinary areas including the role of chemistry in allied fields like Nanotechnology, Material Sciences and Environmental Sciences. Such curriculum design will be unique of its kind and in line with the curriculum adopted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The curriculum design based on interactive teaching, which is a FJWU, will concentrate on ethical, environmental and financial issues in Chemistry and will help students to develop teamwork and presentation skills. Furthermore, the advanced chemistry laboratory setups and research facilities is the core aim of this new degree program at FJWU, will aid young women scholar to grow exponentially.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 12 years of education with chemistry as a major subject.
  • NAT with 40% marks


  • Degree Duration: 4 Years
  • Semesters: 8
  • Semester duration : 16-18 weeks

Degree Completion Requirements

  1. Total credit hours : 136
  2. Research thesis : Optional (6 credit hours)

To become eligible for award of BS degree, a student must satisfy the following requirements:

  1. Must have studied and passed the prescribed courses, totaling at least 136 credit hours.
  2. Must have earned CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of at least 2.0 on a scale of 4.0.
