FJWU Ranks 601 in Top 800 International Universities in Times Higher Education Impact Ranking
Fatima Jinnah Women University is the first public sector higher education institution for women in Pakistan with a vision to promote and facilitate women in their academics, research and community development in various fields of Higher Education. Since its inception in 1998, Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) has made remarkable advancements as a young university in the 22 years of its establishment.
Fatima Jinnah Women University is geared towards contributing in the sustainable development of the country. The vision of the university is to aspire and innovate for a sustainable future by promoting higher education, research, collaboration and community engagement to achieve societal empowerment. The University is consolidating and advancing its academic achievements, research productivity and community impact by focusing on Sustainable Development Goals. A large number of courses offered at the university under different programs and the research carried out by faculty members and students in varied fields cater to addressing and achieving sustainable development goals.
In this regard, the university participated in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021 for the first time, and has been ranked 601 among top 800 world universities making a significant impact in their respective communities for their sustainable development. The Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking is a global ranking that assesses participating universities’ impact on society in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This overall Impact Ranking puts FJWU in the 9th place among Top 10 Pakistani Universities out of a total of 36 Pakistani universities ranked by Times Higher Education in 2021.

FJWU secured a rank of 601 among top 800 international universities, out of a total of 1115 universities, which applied for Impact Ranking. As the first women’s university of Pakistan, FJWU is delighted to have made a successful foray into THE Impact Ranking 2021, and looks forward to participate in other international rankings as well.

Fatima Jinnah Women University offers a wide range of 65 academic and research programs at graduate and post-graduate levels, under the faculties of Science and Technology, Arts and Social Sciences, Education, and Islamic and Oriental Learning, targeting areas of national and international development to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. These programs go through extensive Continuous Quality Assurance and Enhancement mechanisms, and are at par with national and global standards of higher education.
