Closing Ceremony: Three Days Workshop on "Professional Development for Young Academics"

Rawalpindi: Closing Ceremony of Three day workshop on “Professional Development for Young Academics” held at Fatima Jinnah Women University, Workshop  organized by Women Research And Resource Center (WRRC) and ORIC.

Professional Development for Young Academics” workshop includes young faculty – both lecturers and researchers, and there's a specially devised program aimed at adapting and developing their professional skills. Members of the group get extra opportunities to improve their skills, establish new professional contacts, and adapt to the university's academic life.

Almost thirty young academics attended the workshop and it based on different sessions of discussions and activities involved in it.

On closing ceremony workshop Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi talked about on Experiences, Realities and the Trajectory of Women in Higher Education Leadership and she said Leadership is not simply the act of being a leader, it is the act of leadership that projects ‘success’ and ‘desirable’ attributes. She detailed talked about what problems and barriers they faces, also said there are many conflicts but every problem have solution. She tells how to tackle with these problems and how to create a strong role of women in higher education.

Dr. Bushra Ghaus talked about quality assurance in higher education and tell how to improve the level of education academia to be better one. She briefly defines learning modes, how to rank universities on international level, what is MOOCs and coursera courses how to get admission in that to improve your skills.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir talked about on educational administration and women universities and said University is the training ground where you are prepared to face the challenges of the real world. I want to emphasize for the young women of this nation that time ripe for us to strengthen what we have achieved and to avail of the opportunities that come our way. We have to think of the future of our nation.

Chairperson NCSW (National Commission on the status of women) MS. Khawar Mumtaz was the Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony she said that            “Challenges hold opportunities and threats make you stronger, so never give up against challenges and threats”.

At the end Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir presented university souvenir to MS. Khawar Mumtaz.
