Executive Director, Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), Visited FJWU

Rawalpindi: (   ) Mr. David Robinson, Executive Director, Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), Canada, visited Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Rawalpindi on October 24, 2018 as part of his visit to Pakistan to interact with Pakistani academics.  Mr. Fida Hussain, Director General, Learning and Innovation Division, Higher Education Commission, Pakistan also accompanied him in this visit.  Mr. David Robinson held meeting with Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir, Vice Chancellor, and FJWU and discussed the mandate and scope of Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), for possible collaboration in terms of professional development of faculty, academic leadership and research opportunities.

Later, Mr. David Robinson had meeting with Deans, Prof. Samina Bokhari and Dr. Mian Khurram Shahzad Azam, regarding issues related to academic freedom, access to research resources, equal opportunity employment for university teachers and recruitment and retention of university teachers.  Mr. David Robinson also had discussion with Heads of department and MS/MPhil & PhD research scholars to discuss research opportunities and access to research. Mr. David Robinson visited the campus facilities and interacted with audience through FJWU Radio VOW.  Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir, appreciated the visit of Mr. David Robinson and hoped that this will create opportunities for future collaboration.
