FJWU Celebrates "Peace Day"

Rawalpindi: Department of Islamic studies, Fatima Jinnah Women University organized an event on international Peace Day, welcome addressed given by Vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir she said if the world is to realize peace, it first has to build it in our hearts and minds. That can only be accomplished through nurturing love in our hearts, which can only be accomplished through educating our mind further she said we all have to work to promote peace and harmony in our society and for that we have to work together. Promoting peace requires valuing and considering both oneself and others. As such, peace is central to every situation throughout our lives.

The guest speaker of the event was Prof. Faculty of Islamic studies oriental studies university of Peshawar Qibla Ayaz PhD, Edinburgh, UK he talked about “Islam a religion of peace” and said Islam teaches peace and harmony above all. Peace is the primary duty of Islam and its adherents must come to show to the world that we are for peace and settlement not for violence and destruction. World has witnessed a lot of bloodshed in the name of God since the past two decades. Time has arrived when practical and positive initiatives can portray the true message of Islam.
