One Day Workshop organized on Application of Mindfulness Based Techniques to Enhance Personal Wellbeing
Counseling and Wellness Centre (CWC) at Fatima Jinnah Women University organized a one day workshop on “Application of Mindfulness Based Techniques to Enhance Personal Wellbeing” on 30th September 2019. The purpose of the workshop was to introduce professionals and students to range of mindfulness techniques that can assist them to enhance their general wellbeing by reducing stress and negative emotions in personal and professional lives. Dr. Razia Bhatti Ali, Chartered Clinical Psychologist based in UK was the resource person. She is registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Council and is a member of both the British Psychological Society and the Division of Clinical Psychology. She gave practical demonstrations of different mindfulness based techniques along with breathing exercises to promote and enhance personal wellbeing. Students and faculty members from different universities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad attended the workshop.
The Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Women University, Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir appreciated Incharge Counseling and Wellness Centre Dr. Iram Gul and her team members for extending their efforts to organize training workshops and orientation sessions to raise awareness about seeking support for psychological issues . She further added that such workshops are very useful in keeping abreast with latest interventions and developments in the field of mental health. Prof. Dr. Uzaira Rafique, Dean Faculty of Science and Technology was also present at the occasion. She commended the efforts of the Counseling and Wellness Center in promoting mental health and wellbeing.
