Press Release FJWU Organized Event On "Global Climate Change"

Rawalpindi: (      ) Defense and Diplomatic studies (DDS) Department organized the event on the topic of “Global Climate Change” on the event of climate change diplomacy week in collaboration with Netherland Embassy. The event comprised of a documentary “thank you for the rain” and a panel discussion. The major guests in the panel were: Miss Arty from Netherlands Embassy, Mr. Syed Abu Ahmed who’s   the secretary and consultant for Ministry of Climate and Dr. Anjum Rasheed, Climate researcher and Assistant professor in Comsats University.

In the particular event and discussion, the magnitude the causes the effects and the remedies related to climatic change was discussed comprehensively along with the discussion with students.

It was suggested that the change of individual behavior is required. We need to adopt smart behavior, for instance conservation of water, using public transport, avoidance of disposable plastic, climate compatible dressing & eating.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir concluded the discussion by saying that mind changes aren’t easy to change, it’ll take time but we can’t sit that it won’t change. We have to aware people about it. She presented souvenirs to the worthy guests and appreciated students for participating in the significant and crucial discussion.

The useful and eye-opening discussion ended with a mutual promise that we will act responsible and will do personal measures to conserve energy and protect climate.
