Seminar on "Mental Health and Drug Abuse" organized by Department of Behavioral Sciences

Rawalpindi: In continuation with observance of Anti-Drug Activities as part of directives of Punjab Government and alliance with Fatima Jinnah Women University, the department of Behavioral Sciences organize an awareness raising seminar on Mental Health & Drug Abuse. Mr. Yasir Masood Afaq, Director House of Wellness, spoke to audience on triggers, consequences and treatment modalities of drugs. The debate was centered on how mental health concerns must need to consider at varying levels. A large number of students and faculty from various departments participated in the event. The students of behavioral sciences demonstrated a mime beautifully portraying the journey of returning to life once the addiction is treated. Department spokesperson for Anti-Drug Activities, Dr. Sabahat Haqqani further highlighted the role and efforts of the University in awareness raising about the issue. In concluding remarks, Dr. Aneela Maqsood (Head Dept. of Behavioral Sciences) highlighted that the seminar is an effort to ensure and support the mission to promote safer and healthier society. As token of appreciation, Dr. Maqsood presented University souvenir to speaker of the event.
