Right to Information

The Government of Punjab has implemented a series of measures to strengthen transparent service delivery and citizen satisfaction. The recently promulgated Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013 and implementation of Punjab Public Management Reform Program (PPMRP) are part of the larger agenda to promote e-governance and spread evidence-based information, from the Government as custodians of information to the citizens – its rightful owners.

The RTI Act makes it mandatory for the Punjab public authorities to provide stipulated government-held information to the public. Furthermore, the recently launched Punjab Public Management Reform Program is another stride towards the goal of proliferating the province with horizontal and vertical transparent governance. The public can access the information in the following two ways; by requesting for it, known as reactive disclosure or receiving information without submitting any requests, termed as proactive disclosure.

How Fatima Jinnah Women University facilitate RTI?

FJWU considers that enlightenment of citizens to hold public officers/officials accountable is legal and ethical right and for this very reason and keeping all the efforts done by RTI Commission to maintain transparency, FJWU has taken following immediate actions to join hands in hands with RTI Commission Punjab

A Public Body shall Pro-Actively Disclose:-
  • Norms and Criteria set by the public body for the discharge of its functions

  • A statement of categories of information being held by the public body
    • Students' Academic Records
    • Other record as required under the provisions of University's Legal Frame Work

  • Amount of subsidy and details of beneficiaries if the public body provides any subsidy
    • Not Applicable

  • Particulars of the recipients of concessions, permits or authorizations granted by the public body
    • University being pubic body provide fee waiver to the disabled students of FJWU, Rawalpindi
    • Scholarships are provided to the students. View Details

  • Facilities available with the public body for obtaining information held by it
    • FJWU designated its Public information officers and E-mail address is also given on the website to facilitates the General Public.

  • Any other information that the Government may notify in the official Gazette
    • FJWU issues the information on University Website

What is the Procedure of Complaints regarding RTI in Fatima Jinnah Women University?

"Dear citizen, please enclose your complete documents u/rule/10 (2) of PT&RTIA, 2013 and rule-5(4) under duties of PIO, mainly includes,

  • Copy of Identity Card
  • Cell No
  • Email address
  • Mailing address

so that your application may be entertained as per law. You are informed that you can request to obtain desired information for 1 year only u/ rule rule 10(c)."
