About the Conference
Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, the first public sector university for women, the Association of Media and Communication Academic Professionals (AMCAP) and Higher Education commission (HEC) of Pakistan are collaborating to organize an AMCAP-FJWU International Media Conference 2021, titled Digital Media Ecologies in the New Normal: Challenges and Opportunities, at the FJWU premises from 17-18 February, 2021.
The primary focus of this conference is on understanding the role of Digital Media in shaping our contemporary world. These technologies have become more important and relevant during the recent outbreak of Corona virus. As digital media is rapidly driving innovation by creating new avenues for national development, it is crucial for Pakistani government, academics, researchers and professionals to understand their changing nature, capabilities, control patterns and operating mechanisms to get maximum benefit.
As the premier women university, FJWU is taking the lead in organizing the conference at this critical juncture, thereby providing a much needed platform to collectively share ideas and create synergies required to make Pakistan a prosperous country. The conference aims to connect national and international academia in the field of media and communication to policy makers with the objective of achieving the vision of the welfare state. There is very little academic contribution in the field of Media and Communication Studies in the country and this conference is an effort to bridge this gap.
