Scope of the Conference
A group of thirteen renowned International Communication scholars from Canada, USA, Sweden, UK, Czech Republic, Egypt, Turkey and Qatar will participate in this international conference. In addition to this, a large number of national Media & Communication scholars, academicians, professionals, practitioners, policymakers, civil society activists and experts from different fields are taking part in this conference. As of now, around 100 conference related abstracts from public and private universities from across Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Baluchistan have been received and are going through the review process for inclusion.
This international conference will also kick start a weeklong academic activity: AMCAP Doctoral Spring School which is aimed at strengthening PhD level research in Pakistan in the field of Media and Communications. The conference is semi-virtual because of the COVID pandemic. The international scholars who cannot travel because of travel restrictions will participate online whereas the plenary sessions will take place on the University premises. The inaugural session, which will also take place on the university premises, aspires to have His Excellency, the Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Imran Khan as the Chief Guest.
The two-day conference will have eight thematic sessions and ten scientific paper sessions. Thematic sessions will address the themes of digital media technologies in the new normal with trans-disciplinary approach to research and education, public health challenges, media ethics, human rights in changing times and digital governance.
