RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Abida Sharif (Assistant Professor at Department of Sociology, Fatima Jinnah Women University) is a distinguished sociologist who earned her PhD in Sociology from the University of Paris-Saclay, France. One of Dr. Sharif’s emerging research interests lies in exploring the societal implications of AI-driven chatbots, with a specific focus on the effects on youth and broader social dynamics. Her commitment to understand the intersection of technology and society reflects her forward-thinking approach to sociological inquiry.

Her research spans key areas, including the Sociology of Environment and Climate Change, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Societies, Sociology of Education, Disaster Management, Transnational Social Spaces, Family & Marriage, and Gender and Identity. Dr. Sharif’s academic contributions have been recognized at international, national, and provincial levels, particularly for her groundbreaking work in Family and Marriage studies and community-driven research projects focused on Solid Waste Management (Local Challenge Fund) and Road Safety (Grand Challenge Fund). Her innovative insights have been featured in high-impact international journals, highlighting her significant influence in contemporary sociological discourse.
