Degree Title: PhD in Economics Attendance: Full Time Program Duration: 3-8 Years Eligibility Criteria: Minimum 3 CGPA in M.Phil./ MS in Economics (18 years of education) Minimum 60% score in GAT Subject or Departmental Subject Specific Test. Candidates with less than 3CGPA (Semester system or less than 60% score (annual) may consult FJWU MS MPhil & PhD Policy Manual.pdf Degree Completion Requirements (one point per line) To become eligible for the award of a PhD degree in Economics, a student must satisfy the following requirements:
- The program consists of 20 semester credits.
- A PhD student has to complete at least 18 credit hours of graduate-level coursework, qualify for a comprehensive exam, and complete PhD dissertation work. ii.
- Students are required to have a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00 in order to maintain PhD candidacy. Failing to maintain this CGPA will lead to dismissal from the PhD program. A PhD scholar is allowed to repeat a course in which she obtained a grade of C or below. iii.
- A student must have full-time enrolment for a minimum of two semesters of coursework.
