Program Duration: minimum 2 – to maximum 4 Years
Eligibility Criteria:
1. An undergraduate degree (involving 16 years of education) in International Relations or any of its fields / specializations is the basic eligibility requirement for admission in the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in International Relations.

2. Interdisciplinary Subjects are also allowed with

• Sixteen Year Education in IR, Political Science, Defense and Strategic Studies (DSS), Defense & Diplomatic studies (DDS), History, Area Studies (European Studies, American Studies, Central Asian Studies, Pakistan Studies) Nuclear and Strategic Studies, Asian Studies and Peace & Conflict Studies.
• GAT General is not required; the applicants of the above-mentioned relevant fields will have to pass internal specific written admission test (passing score 50%) of the university for the securing MPhil admission.

3. Candidates having Inter-disciplinary Qualifications in a field other than International Relations are also allowed for admission to the program with

• Sixteen Years Education in Psychology, Law, Public Policy & Governance, Gender/Women Studies, English, Economics, Sociology, Education, Public Administration, Anthropology, Behavioral Sciences, Communication/Media Sciences/Journalism
• The interdisciplinary admission may only be allowed, if:

a) the applicant has a strong interest in pursuing an MS/MPhil/equivalent degree in a different discipline.
b) the applicant has passed the GRE-Subject/equivalent test with minimum 50% marks in the discipline of admission and has taken 6-9 CH of deficiency courses of level 6.
c) the admission committee is satisfied that the applicant’s knowledge of primary area (level 6) has sufficiently prepared him or her to undertake the course of studies of the MS/MPhil/equivalent program (or, in the opinion of the admission committee, the preparation can be deemed satisfactory by taking a few additional courses after starting the program) as per Graduate Education Policy 2023.

Degree Completion Requirements
To become eligible for the award of an MPhil degree in International Relations, a student must satisfy the following requirements:

1. The program will consist of 32 credits.
2. Completion of coursework as per HEC requirements.
3. Completion of thesis research.
4. Fulfillment of attendance and academic performance criteria.
