FJWU leading the consultative meetings with Universities in Punjab, Federal Capital and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provinces under a US-Pakistan University Partnerships Grant

Fatima Jinnah Women University conducted consultative meetings with Universities in Punjab, Federal Capital and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provinces under the project "Strengthening Teaching & Research Capacity in Pakistani Universities through Collaborative Partnership in Social Sciences. The project funded by US Government under US-Pakistan University Partnerships Grant Program and administered by United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan, supported the national capacity building of University Faculty. Dr Aneela Maqsood, Principal Investigator, Associate Professor of Applied Psychology, is leading consultancy meetings to develop a framework of ‘Faculty Training Model’ to strengthen teaching and research in higher education. The consultative meetings were conducted with seven universities including University of Sargodha, Govt. College Women University of Faisalabad, Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University and Kohsar University Murree from Punjab Province, Quaid-i-Azam University from Federal Capital, and Women University Swabi and Hazara University Mansehra from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. The virtual consultative meetings provided a perspective of major and leading universities of Pakistan along with a comparative course of action for women universities. The analysis yielded priority areas of training considering the global aspects of curriculum development, methods and processes of innovative teaching pedagogy and incorporating the emerging trends in impactful research. As a way forward, project team of FJWU is ready to launch series of trainings in partner universities.
