A Certified Training Workshop on “Teacher Adolescent Counselor Training: A Psychoeducational Model of Teacher as Counselor” on Dec 26th, 2019.

Dr. Aneela Maqsood (Head of Dept. of Behavioral sciences) will conduct a Certified Training Workshop on “Teacher Adolescent Counselor Training: A Psychoeducational Model of Teacher as Counselor” in collaboration with Directorate Federal Govt. Educational Institutions (Cantt/ Garrison) on Dec 26th, 2019. The workshop is a part of the project titled “Development of Teacher’s Capacity Building Model to address the Counseling Needs of Students: A way forward to Institutional Development”, funded under Thematic Research Grant program of Higher Education Commission. The areas of training for teachers and school/college Principals include essential counseling skills for effective student-teacher interaction, understanding emotional and behavioral issues, enhancing ability to accept differences and make positive decisions, imparting self-confidence and self-awareness, inculcating positive attitudes, healthy ways of dealing with differences and how the continued learning enhances the ability to achieve successful career goals.

The workshop will mark the closing of the project which has undertaken an extensive action research along with conducting series of capacity building trainings including a panel discussion, 05 training workshops and 03 international seminars. The project has successfully built collaborations with educational management authorities including Directorate Federal Government Educational Institutions (FGEIs, Cantt/ Garrison) and with Rawalpindi Directorate of Education (schools & colleges).  The collaborations were built for inclusion of policy makers/ management in the dissemination process as a key element that defines the success parameters of action research. The principal investigator is highly indebted to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in promoting the issues of national concern and development.
