Degree Requirements

PhD Program

  • A student at PhD level (Duration: minimum 3 Years, maximum 8 Years) shall have to complete 18 credit hours of coursework.
  • Comprehensive Exam:
    1. Each student must pass Comprehensive Exam within the first 2 years.
    2. If the student does not pass the Comprehensive exam in two years, she will be dismissed from the PhD program.
    3. A students must score minimum 3.0 or equivalent in t he written exam to maintain her PhD student status.
    4. A student will be eligible to retake the comprehensive exam within 6 months  of the first attempt.
    5. A maximum of two attempts will be allowed for comprehensive exam.
    6. The written exam will be followed by viva voce
  • Open Defense: an open defense of Dissertation is an essential part of the PhD Program after positive evaluation of Dissertation.
  • Research Paper: Publication of at least one research paper based on the PhD research as per HEC policy
  • The required minimum CGPA shall be 3.0. The CGPA will be reported upto two decimals.

MPhil Program

  1. A student at M.Phil level (Duration Minimum 2 Years Maximum 4 Years) shall complete 30 credit hours (Theory: 24 and Thesis: 06),
  2. A student at MS level (Duration 1.5 Years) shall complete 30 credit hours (Theory: 24 and Thesis or Two Courses: 06),
  3. The required minimum CGPA shall be 2.50 for the successful completion of the degree.
  4. The CGPA will be calculated upto two decimals.

Bachelors Program

A student at Bachelors level (Minimum duration 4 Years, maximum 6 years) studying for her Bachelor’s degree shall complete the following degree requirements according to their respective sessions/ scheme of studies:

All other Undergraduate Degree Programs: 130 credit hours (Theory: 122, Thesis or Two Courses: 6) and (Internship: 2).

 

In addition, Community Work (20 contact hours) and Internship for 6-8 weeks shall be a compulsory component of all Undergraduate degree programs. The required minimum CGPA shall be 2.0. The CGPA will be reported up to two decimals.
